LOVE ALWAYS, WILD by A.M JOHNSON
When I left that night, I had every intention of coming back to you. To us. But no matter how hard I wish for what I want, there are some things in life that aren't meant to be. I don't expect you to understand. You've already moved on, living your life. But mine ended that night, nine years ago, and I still can't let you go. Not sure I ever will. I regret so many things, but hurting you, I'll never forgive myself. I'm sorry for… everything.
If only you could've seen it like I did, the way you were when you thought the world wasn't watching. How you'd change when I looked at you, when it was just us.
But most of all… I wish you could've seen how much it hurt me when you disappeared. Regrets are for cowards. It has always been my belief you should chase after the things you want with actions, not words. There is no such thing as never meant to be.
So this apology… not accepted…
Love always, Wild
Love Always, Wild by A.M Johnson broke my heart into a million shares over and over again, leaving me gasping for breath and wondering if a happy ending was even possible between Jax and Wilder, only to put it back together in the best way possible time and time again. I enjoyed the roller coster ride and was honestly sad to reach the end.
Jaxon and Wilder hurt so much—together and separately. Life and family did a number on them, creating a hurt that isn't easily healed and robbing them of so many years of happiness. Time was a cruel mistress and it took them almost a decade to get their happy ever after but the journey was good for them in so many ways too.
They were both strong characters who grew into capable adults during the time they spent apart. Wilder found himself and his place in the world, creating a family out of good friends all the while keeping distance between him and the possibility of love. Jaxon shoulder the responsibility life dumped on him with dignity and grace, sacrificing so much of himself for everyone around him.
These two did not come together easily. It was real and mess and heart wrenching but in the best way possible.
I really enjoyed the supporting cast too. I hope we get to read Ethan's story. And even Wilder's agent Anders because he was such a sweet character who wore his heart on his sleeve and deserves his own happy ending.
