GIDEON by R.J. SCOTT & MEREDITH RUSSELL
Updated: Nov 12, 2020
A snowy cabin with one bed? That’s only the first step toward Gideon falling in love.
Gideon is too old to be fought over at Christmas by divorced parents who should know better. The prospect of a Christmas on his own is better than having to face either of them. When Rowan hires him for a wintery break in Maine, it seems like a safe choice until his PA’s meddling family shows him something entirely new: Love.
Rowan hiring his boss for a trip back to his moms’ place for Christmas sounded like a good idea at the time. Killing two birds with one stone, he can cheer up Gideon and possibly steal a kiss under the mistletoe. After all, he’s been hiding his attraction to the man for years, and maybe with some Christmas magic, he can help Gideon see what is right under his nose.

Gideon was a sweet little holiday story about a grumpy boss and his sunshine PA.
When Rowen invites Gideon home for Christmas sparks fly. Neither one of them can deny their attraction anymore. Maybe its forced proximity or maybe its a Christmas miracle or maybe its just two men who finally get out of their own way.
Gideon and Rowen were very go with the flow. Once they were stuck sharing a room and settled into the awkwardness that is taking your boss, who you are also attracted to home for Christmas, they ambled along to their happy ending without any unnecessary drama.
Thought Gideon was a sweet read there was nothing particularly memorable about it for me. It was just another short holiday story about two different men falling in love. There was no real highs or lows. These two came together naturally and without fuss which is a selling point if you're looking for a low drama, low angst Christmas read.
